Squash the Chaos
Volume 1, Number 6
¿Hola, cómo estás?
Estoy bien!
(I thought it would be fun to say hello in different languages each week. Guess which language and check your guess at the end of each newsletter)
Oh my goodness my life has been full of adventure! The day after Valentine’s Day we were told we would need to vacate our home by the end of March. Finding a place was honestly quite challenging, but we were able to move in April 1st which nearly killed me. Our new place wasn’t ready, it was a ton of work, the dog kept escaping and on the very first day I suffered a pretty major injury.
I could not wait to get started and was dying to set up my new bookshelf. Luckily we were able to move into the next building. I started around 3am grabbed a wine crate full of my favorite books and set off to our new home. I took a few steps and then shrieked in agony. I had stepped on the stem of a wine glass that went right through my shoe and embedded itself in my foot. So I carefully yanked it out of my foot and hobbled into the family room. I had grabbed a few towels to collect the river of blood escaping from my foot. I realized my phone was in the bedroom and hobbled back to retrieve my phone and then returned to the chair. I then proceeded to call my children a bazillion times but they were still in a deep sleep. So I then tied up my foot with a dish towel carrying my blood drenched shoe in one hand, it was way too bloody to put on my foot and then hobbled once more to our new house, woke up the children, they helped me and I survived, obviously or I wouldn’t be writing this newsletter.
My foot is doing much better, but it definitely made moving more challenging, I became an expert in speed-hobbling. The good news we found things we had misplaced such as my favorite nightgown, which apparently had been hiding out behind the dryer. On a side note, I never went to the doctor. I didn’t have time as we had so much to do. I did call them several days after the incident and they said I’d survive, which I was very grateful to hear because it saved me time and money. We finished on Sunday, celebrated my baby’s birthday, and then I headed off to Florida for a week for a very exciting business trip, for Making Life Lovely. I can’t wait to start telling you about those adventures, but they will have to wait until week!!

Weekly Focus
This week I am keeping the Weekly Focus super simple. The focus is simple - Be Happy. Focus on Happiness. Things are going to be challenging at times, but focus on being happy and making the best of any situation. Stand back up, shake things off, and evaluate the situation. Learn as much as possible and continually move forward, never giving up. Know I believe in you, and you need to believe in yourself! A long time ago I realized I had two choices: one was to be happy and the other to be miserable. I try to always choose happiness. If you’d like to read more about when I made that choice you can read my blog post here. So that’s it, simply choose happiness!
